Backups? What Backups?

So today I'm going to complain about the Packers. Yeah. So if you don't wanna hear it, go somplace else. Now.

Apparently the Green Bay Packers seem to think that having a solid set of second stringers is a bad thing. I watched a little bit of the game last night and got pretty disgusted with what I saw. Our defence looked like something out of last season's playbook. No pressure on Vince Young and collapsing the offensive line in all the wrong ways to stop Young from running literally straight into the endzone. That was pathetic.

Barnett, and Smith were the only real veterans on the field and Raji was the only one trying to play really well. Smith and Raji both got injured, so now where does that put us? Smith was our only bit of depth in the safety department and Raji was our top defensive prospect. Bishop played pretty well, but he didn't have the help that he's usually had with the veteran starters in there.

Now onto our offense. Brohm looked once again like he shouldn't be allowed to quarterback the local pewee football league. He did put together a few OK drives, but it wasn't anything that a Rex Grossman or a Kyle Orton couldn't do. If Matt Flynn was not injured, I would almost want to cut Brohm just because he's such a bust.

Our running game wasn't great either...it'll be a difficult decision for McCarthy when he makes his roster, choosing one which didn't suck worse: Lumpkin or Wynn. Grant, Sutton, and Jackson will probably make it for sure, but Wynn and Lumpkin have their work cut out for them.

Let's just hope that we don't get too banged up this year because I don't wanna look at who's supposed to be backing up the original player.

About Music Melk's Crazy Corner
My blog will be about whatever I really want to say about sports each week. Some weeks will be totally awesome and some will suck. I will forewarn my readers that I will mostly be discussing the following teams: The Milwaukee Brewers, The Green Bay Packers, The Pittsburgh Steelers, The Wisconsin Badgers, and any golfer. If you don't like any of these teams/players, I suggest that you read something else until I feel like talking about something else.
